Masked Warrior Boss Guide

The Masked Warrior is the only boss with a fixed real-world spawn schedule: XX:20 on odd hours (1:20, 3:20, 5:20, 7:20, 9:20…).

Each window, the boss appears at exactly one of three points in Soul Society Outskirts: stairs to The Precipice, circular stairs near the quest giver, or the platform across the wooden bridge.

Set a phone alarm for XX:20. If the boss is not at the first location, check the other two before the next hour slot.

Server population affects kill security — bring friends on busy servers to guarantee Courage Extract credit.

Masked Warrior uses standard Soul Society telegraph language: red glow = unblockable heavy (parry with F or dodge), yellow glow = wide hitbox (dodge only, do not parry).

The boss chains fast melee strings — block the first hit, parry the second on red telegraphs. Back off during yellow AoE wind-ups.

Lv15-20 players should over-level before attempting solo. The fight is manageable with Rebreather-tier gear and heal items.

Primary drop: Courage Extract — required for the green statue in Clint's Statue Mystery quest (Lv15+).

Secondary: standard boss EXP and combat practice for red/yellow reads before King Croc and Shikai inner-world fights.

Masked Hollow Man is a separate random-event boss with a server announcement. It drops Masked Hollow Man Extract — a different item for different quest steps. Do not camp expecting Hollow Man on the XX:20 timer.
