One-Handed Sword Style Unlock

You'll reach Mizuki Shado early in main story progression (~level 20). Most players pass through without noticing the hidden cave.

From the Mizuki Shado spawn, go left past the crafting table. Continue past the small river and drop into the cave below — an NPC sits inside.

Interact and talk through the dialogue. The unlock costs approximately 300 green soul tokens, earned naturally from missions, chests, and open-world activities. By the time you arrive here, you likely already have enough if you haven't spent tokens elsewhere.

The quest has two parts. Part 1 is dialogue + payment. Part 2 requires landing 2 parry-executions — a finisher that triggers when you guard-break an enemy who is at very low HP (about 1–1.5 health bars) with high posture.

Realistically this is nearly impossible solo in live PvP. Bring a friend: have them sit at low HP, build their posture with repeated parries, then guard-break for the auto-execution.

You need exactly 2 successful executions to complete the quest. After that, one-handed sword style is permanently unlocked on that character.

Hold middle mouse button to toggle between two-handed (default) and one-handed styles. Each has unique M1 strings and crit animations.

Stat scaling differs per style — check the menu to see which stats benefit each form. One-handed isn't strictly better; it's a playstyle preference with different combo routes.

This appears to be the only alternate sword style at launch beyond the default two-handed form. Worth unlocking early since the token cost aligns with natural progression income.
